Future Screen NI Launch of Future Fellowship Call as Part of Digital Cities
Join Future Screens NI on November 4th, 12pm - 2pm, when we will launch our Future Fellows Call, hosted by Professor Paul Moore
Future Fellowships are targeted towards industry creatives who have identified a specific R&D challenge that can be addressed in partnership with a research specialist from Queen’s University Belfast or Ulster University. The Fellowship offers you the opportunity to you to spend time in a University setting to work on your R&D solution, or for a University partner to spend time in your business to create an R&D solution with clear outputs with an impact upon your business, the creative industries and the creative economy.
This event will be based around the importance of sharing expertise between Universities and Industry, sharing experiences of how this has worked in practice and how it can directly benefit those working within the expanding tech and arts sector.
The Fellowship Call will be launched by Professor Greg Maguire, CEO and Founder of Humain and Deepa Mann-Kler CEO founder of Neon who both have considerable experience at the interface between industry and universities.
Professor Greg Maguire has undertaken ground-breaking work within the animation industry. Humain have been globally recognised as specialists in generating and creating digital humans, fantasy creatures and digital doubles for many of the top entertainment and technology companies around the world.
Deepa Mann-Kler is an award winning design visionary. Neon works alongside the world’s best designers and developers to bring virtual, augmented and mixed reality software applications to market.
Alt Animation and Farset Labs will showcase the work they currently undertaking with Future Screens NI. Andrew Bolster from Farsett labs will be outlining his work using immersive technology with musicians with disabilities. Tim Bryans will present preview of the Hearios from Alt Animation.
The Fellowship Call will be open for applications from 12pm on Tuesday the 4th November 2019 and will close at 5pm on Thursday the 12th of December. Please contact creativeclustersNI@gmail.com for more information. Call documents will be available at the launch.

Future Tuesdays Launch Event:
Join Future Screens NI on November 12th, 5.30pm - 8pm at Ormeau Baths, when we will launch our Future Tuesday’s event series, hosted by Professor Paul Moore
Future Tuesdays is a monthly events series hosted and run by Future Screens NI. At each of these events we will be focussing on a particular aspect of the industries we work with, inviting speakers to tell us about their experiences within the industry, their projects and how they think the industry will change for the better.
For our launch event we will be exploring Futures in Animation and Immersive Technology. The event will feature Alec Parkin and Dr Declan Keeney from Ulster University, and industry lead Kevin Beimers from Italic Pig, Northern Ireland’s Game Studio of the Year.
There will be an opportunity to find out more about Italic Pig’s cutting edge immersive game The Infinite Hotel recently nominated for Best Immersive Game at Raindance.
